Image-guided interventional radiology may be relevant to a wide range of conditions. A consultation establishes whether imaging, medicines, monitoring, surgery or an interventional procedure is most appropriate.
Vascular and venous conditions
- Peripheral arterial disease and selected vascular narrowings or blockages
- Venous disorders, varicose veins and vascular malformations
- Dialysis fistula and graft dysfunction
- Selected venous obstruction and thrombotic problems, depending on clinical indications
Image-guided interventions
- Image-guided biopsy and tissue diagnosis
- Drainage procedures and selected abdominal interventions
- Interventional oncology, including selected embolisation and ablation techniques
- Selected urological and hepatobiliary interventions
Diabetic-foot and multidisciplinary care
Circulation assessment and selected endovascular procedures may support a wider multidisciplinary plan for threatened limbs and non-healing wounds. Evaluation may involve the vascular surgeon, radiologist and other hospital teams.
This is an overview of clinical interests, not a promise that every treatment is available at the centre. Procedures requiring hospital equipment are arranged in an appropriate setting after assessment.
